Description

This easy paleo gravy recipe is made with bone broth, bacon grease and cassava flour.  It's paleo friendly, gluten free, dairy free and whole30 approved!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups bone broth (chicken or beef)
  • 2 Tbsp bacon grease
  • 2 Tbsp cassava flour
  • 1/4 - 1/2 tsp salt (depending on taste preference)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic granules

Instructions

  1. Pour the bone broth and bacon grease into a small sauce pan and place on the stove top, over medium-high heat.

  2. Once the bacon grease has melted and the bone broth mixture is warm (not hot), whisk in the cassava flour, salt and garlic*

  3. Continue cooking the gravy on medium-high heat until the liquid starts to simmer. Then, reduce the heat to medium and cook for another 10 minutes, whisking every couple minutes, or until the gravy has reached the desired thickness.

  4. Serve immediately.

  5. Storage: place gravy in an air-tight container in the fridge and enjoy within one week.

Notes

*Be sure to whisk in the cassava flour when the bone broth is warm but not hot.  If the bone broth is hot then the cassava flour will clump.
