Description

Healthy, homemade Paleo hot chocolate - perfect on a chilly afternoon, as a weekend breakfast treat or healthy after dinner dessert.  Paleo, Vegan, Keto and kid approved.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup almond milk (unsweetened)
  • 1/4 cup coconut cream*
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup**
  • 2 Tbsp cacao powder (or cocoa powder)

Instructions

  1. Combine almond milk, coconut cream and maple syrup in a small sauce pan. Cook over medium heat, stirring every so often, until liquid starts to simmer.
  2. Turn off heat and mix in cacao powder. Tip: use a milk frother to blend in the cacao powder.

  3. Pour the hot chocolate into a mug (or two miniature kids mugs), add desired toppings and drink!

Notes

This recipe makes one small cup (serves one adult), or two small kid servings.  The recipe can easily be doubled to serve more.

*cream from a can of full fat coconut milk

**Not sweet enough?  Add an extra tablespoon or two of maple syrup.  Use a sugar free sweetener for Keto.
