This simple homemade fudge is:

- Vegan
- Dairy free
- easily made keto
- Only 3 ingredients
- lower in sugar than your "average" fudge recipe
- easy to make
Plus, this recipe is easy to customize. Add your favorite chopped nuts, such as pecans or walnuts. Or, mix in other ingredients like chocolate chips, shredded coconut, dried fruit... Anything that your heart desires!
Ingredients
Here's what you need to make this maple fudge recipe:
- almond butter
- maple syrup (sugar free maple syrup for keto)
- cacao butter
- vanilla extract (optional)
This recipe can be made with any type of almond butter. However, I used an unsweetened, no-stir almond butter.
Maple syrup is what makes this a "maple" fudge. (For keto, use a sugar free maple syrup.) That being said, you may substitute with honey and still get a maple flavor by swapping the vanilla extract for maple extract.
Cacao butter is needed for texture. It keeps the fudge solid at room temperature and enhances its silky smooth consistency. I've started using cacao butter in a few of my recipes, including: Andes Mints and Birthday Cake Energy Bites. It's a great ingredient to add to homemade chocolates and protein bars as well.
The vanilla extract is optional, but a great addition. You may swap vanilla extract with maple extract.
How to make Maple Fudge
All you need to make this fudge is a small sauce pan, spatula, lined 8" x 4" baking pan and the necessary ingredients.
First, place the cacao butter in a small sauce pan. Set it on the stove top and melt over low heat, stirring frequently.
Once it's fully melted, mix in the almond butter, maple syrup and vanilla.
Then, pour the mixture into a lined 8" x 4" pan and place in the fridge or freezer to set.
Yep, that easy! It literally takes ten minutes to make, and just a few more to fully set.

How long in the fridge/frezzer
Katie
Should fully set an hour in the fridge or 30 minutes in the freezer.

Have you tried using coconut oil for cacao butter?
Katie
You can use coconut oil or coconut butter instead of cacao, but I like the cacao butter best for texture purposes.
