These healthy honey garlic chicken thighs are made with skinless, boneless chicken thighs, cooked on the stove top and coated with a delicious honey and garlic sauce. This chicken thigh recipe is paleo friendly and great for an easy weeknight dinner.

I don't remember eating chicken thighs much as a child. It was always chicken breast; often times frozen, pre-cooked chicken breast from Costco that was reheated. Nothing like what I make for my family these days!
These days, I'm ALL about the chicken thighs, as they are juicy and tender and much more flavorful than chicken breast. Not only that, but since they're cheaper, they're more budget friendly.
Healthy Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs
This recipe for honey garlic chicken thighs is one of my dinner staples. It consists of boneless, skinless thighs that are coated in tapioca starch, then browned on a frying pan. Once cooked through, they're drenched in a simple garlic and honey sauce.
Because I love a little spice, I added chili flakes and paleo sriracha, but those ingredients are optional for anyone that can't handle heat (like my kids).
Furthermore, these healthy honey garlic chicken thighs are paleo friendly, gluten free, dairy free and nut free.
Ingredients
Here's what you need to make this paleo honey chicken recipe:
- avocado oil
- boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- tapioca starch
- coconut aminos
- garlic
- raw honey
- sriracha (optional)
- salt
- chili flakes (optional)
How to Make Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs on the Stove Top
These paleo chicken thighs are coated in tapioca starch, then cooked on the stove top. I cooked them in my favorite ceramic frying pan, but any type of pan will do.
First, preheat your frying pan on medium heat. Pour the avocado oil on the pan.
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the chicken thighs and tapioca starch. Mix until they're well coated.
Place the chicken thighs on the preheated, oiled frying pan. Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 10 minutes on medium heat.
After 10 minutes, remove the lid and flip all of the thighs. Cook the chicken thighs (uncovered) for 10 more minutes, or until cooked through.
In a small bowl, whisk together the coconut aminos, pressed garlic, honey, sriracha, salt and chili flakes.
Once the chicken thighs are cooked through, pour the sauce over the thighs. Continue cooking on medium heat, flipping the thighs every so often, until the sauce thickens.
What to Serve with Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs
A few of my favorite side dishes to serve with chicken thighs include:
- baked plantain fries (as seen in the photos)
- easy cauliflower rice
- butternut squash tots
- sesame green beans
- curry brussels sprouts
Storage
Any leftovers should be stored in a sealed, air-tight container in the fridge. They are best eaten within 5 days.
