These air fryer sesame green beans are crispy, flavorful and healthy. They're cooked in the air fryer and a great side dish for any meal. Paleo, Vegan, Keto, Whole30 and kid approved.

Green beans are one of those vegetables that I totally overlooked as a kid. I only knew the canned green beans that everyone poured into green bean casserole at Thanksgiving. Needless to say, I wasn't very fond of them.
Fast forward to my adult years and I cannot get enough! Paleo green beans are one of my favorite side dishes.
I love them sautéed on a frying pan, baked in the oven, steamed and especially cooked in the air fryer. Air fryer green beans turn out crispy and crunchy - the perfect texture.
Recipe Highlights
Here's what you need to know about these sesame oil green beans:
- Great for any diet: paleo, vegan, keto, whole30 and free of top allergens (if you can't have sesame then swap the sesame oil for avocado oil and omit the sesame seeds)
- Crispy: not rubbery or soggy but light and crispy
- Made in the air fryer: perfect for the summer since there's no oven necessary
- Only 5 ingredients: a simple green bean recipe
- Kid friendly: all of my children LOVE these garlic sesame green beans
I often make these for a quick lunch or dinner side. The whole family loves them and eats these green beans without complaint.
Ingredients
This whole30 sesame green bean recipe is only 5 ingredients. Here's what you need:
- green beans: organic if possible
- sesame oil: I recommend organic, unrefined sesame oil
- sesame seeds
- salt: I use unrefined pink salt
- granulated garlic
If you cannot consume sesame, then swap the sesame oil for avocado oil and omit the sesame seeds.
How to Make Green Beans in the Air Fryer
The instructions for this recipe are made for the Cuisinart Convection Toaster Oven Air Fryer (which is what I own), but any air fryer will work.
First, rinse and trim the ends of the green beans (if needed). Place the green beans in a large mixing bowl and coat with sesame oil.
Next, sprinkle the sesame seeds, salt and garlic onto the green beans and toss until well coated.
Place the green beans in the air fryer basket, spreading them out as evenly as possible.
Place the green beans on the top rack of the air fryer.
Plug in the air fryer. Set the function to "air fry", the temperature to 300 degrees and the timer for 20 minutes. Cook for 20 minutes, adding on another 5-10 minutes if needed.
When done, the green beans should be crisp and slightly browned on top.
These keto air fryer green beans are best eaten right after cooking. However, leftovers can be stored in the fridge and eaten the following day. Either enjoy them cold or warm them up in the air fryer by air frying them for a couple minutes at 300 degrees.
