These paleo ground lamb meatballs are cooked on the stovetop and ready to eat in under 30 minutes. They're made with ground lamb, fresh veggies, spices and coated in a coconut aminos sauce. This easy meatball recipe is paleo, gluten free, whole30 and made without breadcrumbs.
I love cooking with ground lamb every now and then to mix things up. While it's similar to ground beef, lamb is richer and has a higher fat content. It can be slightly gamey in flavor, but not if properly seasoned like these ground lamb meatballs.
This lamb meatballs recipe is full of flavor thanks to the addition of fresh veggies, herbs and spices. There are so many wonderful flavors and textures, even my kids were head over heels for this recipe!

How To Make Paleo Ground Lamb Meatballs
These paleo lamb meatballs are super easy to make, one of the many reasons why this is a go-to dinner recipe for my family! Here's what you need to do:
- Prepare all of the meatball ingredients (grate ginger, chop onion and parsley, press garlic cloves) and place in a large mixing bowl with the cumin, salt and chili powder. Mix, then add in the ground lamb. Use a spatula or your hands to combine the ingredients until you have a consistent mixture.
- Pour avocado oil on a frying pan and preheat on medium heat.
- Roll the ground lamb mixture into balls, about 1 rounded tablespoon in size.
- Place each ball on the preheated frying pan.
- Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 4-5 minutes on medium heat. Remove the lid, flip the meatballs, then place the lid back on and cook an additional 4-5 minutes.
- While the meatballs are cooking, make the sauce. Combine all sauce ingredients in a small mixing bowl and whisk.
- After cooking the meatballs a total of 8-10 minutes, remove the lid and pour the sauce over the meatballs. Cook an additional 10 minutes (uncovered). The sauce should thicken and the meatballs will be cooked through.
What Goes Well With Lamb Meatballs
These meatballs are best served warm and go well with nearly any side dish! Here are some of my favorite paleo foods to serve alongside lamb meatballs:
- paleo dinner rolls
- cooked vegetables such as broccoli, asparagus, carrots, beets, green beans
- cassava flour noodles
- plantain fries
- cauliflower mashed potatoes
- salad
- paleo biscuits
- squash puree
- zucchini fritters
- cauliflower rice
- parsnip fries
Storage
Keep any leftovers in a sealed, airtight container in the fridge. They are best eaten within 5 days.
