    Paleo Air Fryer Chicken Tenders (Egg Free, Nut Free)

    These healthy, Paleo Air Fryer Chicken Tenders are made without bread crumbs and instead coated in cassava flour and spices. They are cooked in the air fryer, gluten free, nut free and perfectly crisp on the outside with a juicy, tender interior.

    Paleo chicken tenders are one of my favorite week-night recipes. They're easy to make and the whole family enjoys them.

    Some of my go-to recipes include my Flax Crusted Chicken Tenders and Curry Crusted Chicken Tenders - both Paleo, super easy to make and absolutely delicious!

    These healthy air fryer chicken tenders have a whole host of positive qualities. They are:

    • grain free and gluten free - breaded with cassava flour
    • egg free
    • crispy on the outside
    • juicy and tender on the inside
    • ready in under 30 minutes
    • have a fantastic flavor
    • kid approved

    This particular grain free chicken tender recipe is crusted with cassava flour. Cassava flour is a great Paleo baking flour - grain free, gluten free, nut free, Vegan and allergy friendly. I use it in a lot of my baking. For instance, banana pancakes, pumpkin cupcakes and even rosemary crackers.

    Ingredients in Paleo Air Fryer Chicken Tenders

    Only 6 ingredients are needed to make these crispy Paleo chicken tenders. The spices I used are optional, but create a delicious, flavorful chicken recipe that the whole family is sure to enjoy.

    Here's what you need:

    • 2 large chicken breasts
    • cassava flour
    • ground cumin
    • dried dill
    • sea salt
    • garlic granules

    This recipe calls for 2 large chicken breasts, which will serve 2-4 people. However, the recipe can easily be doubled or tripled to serve more.

    How to Make Paleo Chicken Tenders in the Air Fryer

    This air fryer chicken recipe is easy to make and doesn't take too much prep time. Instructions for this recipe are provided for the Cuisinart Convection Toaster Oven Airfryer, which is the one I own. However, this recipe will work in any air fryer.

    First, grease the wire air frying basket with oil (I used avocado oil). Place the basket on top of the baking sheet. The baking sheet will catch any of the moisture from the chicken or the breading that falls off.

    Then, in a small mixing bowl, combine the cassava flour and spices.

    Next, cut the chicken breasts into strips. I like to use kitchen shears, but a sharp knife will work as well. As an alternative, you may use pre-cut breasts.

    One at a time, dip the chicken breasts into the spice mixture, coating them completely. Lay the chicken tenders on the air frying basket.

    When the chicken is ready to cook, plug in the air fryer. Place the chicken on the top rack of the air fryer, turn the function to "air fry" and the temperature to 400 degrees. Air fry the chicken tenders for 12-15 minutes. Cooking time will vary slightly depending on how thick you cut the tenders.

    After cooking, cool slightly and eat!

    Ingredients

    • 3 Tbsp cassava flour
    • 2 tsp ground cumin
    • 1 tsp dried dill
    • ½-1 tsp salt (depending on taste preference)
    • ½ tsp garlic granules
